On Saturday, April 23rd Judy and I were on the way to see out new granddaughter when a call from railfan friend Steve Grabman initiated a detour through Saginaw on the BNSF. The Norfolk Southern 8109, the Norfolk & Western heritage locomotive was northbound sitting in the yard with no crew in decent afternoon light when the clouds let it slip through. Steve was about don when I slipped in beside him for these two photos when the sun was out at 3:19 pm.
I had to take my photos quickly as a southbound loaded coal came down the west pass and soon blocked this view of the NS 8109.
With this gem now added to my collection we headed on to our family visit!
