My friend Zane Ferguson came up from New Braunfels with his mother and father and he asked me if I would meet them in Grapevine for an hour or two of railfanning on Saturday, December 9, 2023. I arrived around 1:00 pm and met them at the TEXRail station. Zane and I photographed this westbound train as it made its stop there.
Here are three views of Zane with the Grapevine Vintage Railroad’s Christmas train.

After this photo we moved to the Dooley Street grade crossing east of the depot where we caught an eastbound TEXRail closely folllowed by trhe Grapevine Christmas Train.
After these two trains passed, Zane and his parents went to check into their hotel. I decided to visit DFW Junction for a few minutes as I wanted to catch the Grapevine Train coming back off of the FWWR line to Carrollton that will soon be the DART “Silver Line” to Plano. Just as I parked, I looked up and saw a southbound jet overflying the airport as another plane was taking off to the north.
A few minutes passed and a westbound TEXRail came by just having departed from the DFW North Station.
Just after the TEXRail train was out of sight the Grapevine train appeared from the east and passed through the interlocking.
With this shot in the camera, I headed back home after a good visit with friends before Christmas.
