Business took me to Marshall, Texas on October 10th, 2023, about the time that Amtrak 21 was due to stop in town. I composed the first two photos trying to include elements of the station and of the town while using a tree to help shade me from the extreme morning backlight as the train pulled in at 9:41 am.
Immediately west of the depot is a small park with a railroad theme. I worked to compose the best possible photos of the train as it departed.
Hopefully the five photos compose a short story of the train and the town on this day.
