While a far cry from Georges Seurat’s 1884 painting “Sunday in the Park With George”, around 2:10 pm this afternoon Friday May 27th I met fellow railfan Dave Steckler in Forest Park next to the Fort Worth & Western bridge. While I have photographed FWWR trains here probably too many times already over the years, the early afternoon sun was very high and I wanted to use the trees as a sun block for an approaching eastbound train.
We had a nice conversation while only waiting ten minutes before FWWR 2026 “Brazos River” came by leading four other units and sixty or more cars. I framed up my shot to highlight the lead unit in an opening in the foliage.
Happy with our catch we parted ways and I headed home to pack my camera equipment. I have a photo job for a client in Kansas and so will miss this year’s “24 Hours in Saginaw” event. Everyone else have a good time starting tonight!
